Overview: Maryam Support Line is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the charity and ensuring its sustainability. We are looking for someone with a background in health and social care who can bring valuable insights to our discussions and decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Participate in quarterly board meetings to provide strategic guidance and oversight for the charity's operations and future direction.

  • Governance: Ensure that the charity complies with its governing documents, charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.

  • Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for Maryam Support Line, promoting its mission and values to wider networks within the health and social care sector.

  • Support: Provide advice and support to the charity's leadership team, particularly in areas related to health and social care.

  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying and managing potential risks to the charity, ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Significant experience in health and social care, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the sector.

  • Leadership: Previous experience in a strategic role, with the ability to contribute to high-level decision-making.

  • Commitment: A willingness to dedicate time and effort to the charity, attending quarterly meetings and providing input as needed.

  • Passion: A genuine commitment to the mission and values of Maryam Support Line and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of Muslim women in emotional distress.
