Every muslim woman should feel loved and heard.

Welcome to the Maryam Support Line, a free helpline dedicated to encouraging and supporting Muslim women. Our organisation was born from our founders personal journey of struggle, and the realisation of a significant need within our community.

At Maryam Support Line, our mission is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where Muslim women can vent, release their emotions, share their pain, and find hope. We believe in the healing power of being heard and understood, and we aim to offer both emotional and spiritual support rooted in Islamic values.

We’re committed to providing a supportive experience.

What we can do to help you…

  • Listen to your worries, validate your experience, and talk with you about any difficulties you are facing.

  • Empower you with tools that Prophet Muhammad taught us.

  • Provide emotional support and reduce your feelings of loneliness.

  • Provide information about services that may be able to address some of your needs.

What we aren’t able to do…

  • As this is not a health service, we cannot discuss any type of traditional mental health treatment.

  • As this is a charity, we cannot refer or provide on-the-spot psychology and psychotherapy. However, we can provide information that may be able to address some of your needs.

  • We aren’t able to provide any financial, social benefit, or accommodation support. However, we may be able to share information and government resources to point you in the right direction.

  • We cannot provide Islamic or traditional legal advice.

  • We’re not an emergency service. If you are in an emergency, we urge you to immediately contact the appropriate authorities, as we do not have the resources to respond to emergency situations.

What our founder says…

“Every Muslim woman should know that Allah sees and hears her. No matter what she’s going through, no matter how big or small - she’s important and loved. Our team is here to remind her of that.”

— Lizzamah Akinlade, Founder of Maryam Support Line

  • Our service is tailored specifically to support Muslim women with Islamic values. While anyone is welcome to reach out, you may find that our focus on Islamic perspectives is not the best fit for your needs. • We are a team of volunteers from various backgrounds, providing an emotional and Islamic support line. While this isn’t a counselling service, it’s like talking to a friend who listens, understands, and supports you.

  • While we are not a counselling centre and do not provide weekly or monthly sessions, you are more than welcome to book sessions whenever you feel the need for our support. We are here for you whenever you need a listening ear and a compassionate presence. Please feel free to reach out as often as you need.

We are waiting to take your call and listen to you.
